Couples Therapy

Couples therapy is the process of bringing a couple together in an open, non-biased, non-judgmental atmosphere mediated by a therapist or counselor to help the couple resolve issues and conflicts that they have not been able to handle effectively on their own. Couples therapy is people involved in a romantic relationship and includes all variations of couples including status, age, gender, and/or sexual orientation.

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy, also known as talk therapy, is the process through which individuals work one-on-one with a trained mental health therapist or clinician to increase understanding of one’s thought and behavior patterns to help increase function and well-being. Individual therapy includes various therapeutic approaches that assist the individual in effectively identifying and managing stressors and interpersonal difficulties. The individual may develop the abilities to set goals, develop healthy boundaries, make healthy decisions and become more self-aware while learning and implementing self-care.

Co-Parenting/Child Custody Coaching

Co-Parenting/Child Custody Coaching is the interactive process where a counselor, as an impartial third party, assists the parents with healthy co-parenting techniques, visitation supervision, and child custody agreements.

Teletherapy

Teletherapy is therapy or counseling delivered through technology like video conferencing and involves virtual interaction between the therapist and patient remotely through use of computer, tablet, and smartphones. Teletherapy allows you to have a session from the comfort and privacy of the location you choose. Teletherapy is safe, secure, and convenient and may be how you wish to have each of your sessions or may be a hybrid with in-person contact.

Family Therapy

Family therapy or family counseling is a method to develop and maintain healthy and functional family relationships. The goal of family therapy is to identify and address problems and to develop and maintain healthy boundaries, facilitate cohesion and communication, and promote problem-solving to improve the overall positive function of family dynamics.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or CBT is an intervention treatment therapy that helps you recognize and explore your negative or unhelpful thought and behavior patterns and aims to reduce symptoms of various mental health conditions, primarily depression and anxiety disorders. Some of the common techniques used with CBT include; cognitive restructuring or reframing, guided discovery, exposure therapy, journaling and thought records, activity scheduling, behavior activation, behavioral experiments, relaxation and stress reduction, and role playing.

Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy is an evidence-based psychotherapy or counseling that aims at addressing the needs of children and adolescents with Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) addresses the mental health needs of children, adolescents, and families suffering from the destructive effects of early trauma, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and other difficulties related to traumatic life events. Because the client is usually a child, TF-CBT often brings non-offending parents or other caregivers into treatment and incorporates principles of family therapy. TF-CBT has expanded over the years to include services for youths who have experienced many forms of severe trauma or abuse.

Court-Involved Therapy

In Court-Involved Therapy we provide psychotherapy treatment to a parent, child, couple or family who is, at any time during the treatment, involved with the legal system. GSFS has several specially trained therapists who completed Court Involved Therapist training that follows the AFCC guidelines.
